Family Safety Network “Parade of Trees”

     The Family Safety Network (FSN) of Cass County invites all to attend its second annual “Parade of Trees” event Saturday, November 17, 9am-2pm at Union Congregational United Church of Christ in Hackensack. The event will feature a silent auction of donated decorated trees / wreaths / holiday centerpieces, live music, art/craft vendors, and a light lunch of soup, bread, and dessert.  This event is part of a year of activities recognizing 25 years of services being provided by FSN.

          Art/Craft Vendors to date include fabric and quilted craft items, pottery by Midori Marcum, buckwheat hull pillows, blankets & books, garden harvest produce, wood-fired oven breads, and more.  Vendors are welcome to participate as long as space available. Registration forms are available by contacting the FSN office at 218-547-1636.

         Area businesses are encouraged to come bid on holiday items OR bid on services to decorate a tree on-site at your business.

            FSN’s mission is to provide services and build relationships to keep all families safe. It has existed since 1993 and works with persons experiencing domestic violence to meet self-defined needs by providing information and support. They are committed to providing advocacy  to victims of violence by offering: confidential personal and legal advocacy, confidential support, help in filing court documents such as Orders for Protections and Harassment Restraining Orders, accompaniment to court hearings and other appointments, safety planning, women’s weekly support group, 24 Hour Crisis Line 800-324-8151, emergency transportation, public presentations for community education, and information and referral services.

Other events scheduled include: Give to the Max Day on November 15, and the Annual Radiothon to End Child Abuse on December 6-7.
