150th Anniversary Logo Contest

The Committee planning our 150th Celebration is looking for a logo and slogan that will pay homage to our history while also showcasing the many changes we have seen over the years since the last logo in 1973. This new logo and slogan will be featured in advertising, events, online, on merchandise, and anywhere else the committee chooses.
By entering, participants agree to be bound by these contest rules. Violating any rule or not following instructions may eliminate participants’ eligibility.

Eligibility
The contest is open to everyone.
Contestants are permitted to work in groups.
Submission Guidelines and How to Enter
The contest is open from December 6th, 2021 and closes at 11:59 p.m. February 28th, 2022. There will be a blind judging and the winner(s) will be announced in March 2022.
Entries may be sent to the Pine River Chamber of Commerce at PO Box 131, Pine River, MN 56474 or through email at . This form must be filled out and included with the design and/or slogan.
One or more submissions per person is acceptable.
There is no fee to enter the contest.
Contestants may choose to enter a logo, a slogan, or both.
Logo Design Guidelines and Parameters
The logo’s design and slogan should reflect the values of Pine River and promote our city. The logo and slogan must be appropriate for a professional business setting.
Logo entries must be submitted as JPEG or PNG files. If submitted by mail, for quality reproduction purposes, the winning entry must later be submitted as a digital copy.
The logo may be in black and white or in color. The Committee reserves the right to use a color logo in a monochromatic format, when applicable. The logo must be easy to use, handle, resize, and manipulate for all reproduction purposes. It should be visually appealing on both small and large scales.
Logos may be subjected to finalization, including finalization, changing colors, or simplification at the Committee’s discretion.
Intellectual Property
Entrants affirm their submissions are their own original work, have not been copied from others or from previous designs (with the exception of using elements from the previous logo), and do not violate the intellectual property rights of any other person or entity.
Submissions become the sole property of the 150th Committee and may be used for any of the 150th Celebration purposes.
The Committee shall have the right to adapt, edit, modify, or otherwise use the winning submission(s) in whatever manner it deems appropriate.
The Committee reserves the right to choose not to use the winning entries as described in these contest guidelines.
The Committee reserves the right to use any other entries for promotional purposes in the future.
Determination of Winners
The logos and slogans will be judged independently. The Committee reserves the right to choose separate winners for the logo and the slogan, to be used in conjunction.
The winning entries will be selected by third-party judges by blind vote. The Committee will assign a number to contestants’ application(s) and to their submission(s). The judges will not see contestants’ names or correspondence between names and numbers. Their decision is final and no further correspondence shall be entered into.
Logo entries will be judged on their visual appeal, adherence to the concept prompting the contest, quality of design, and ease of reproduction for the purposes stated above.
Slogan entries will be judged on the appropriateness according to guidelines outlined above.
The winner(s) will be notified by either email (if provided) or by phone and on the Facebook page – Pine River’s 150th Anniversary: www.facebook.com/pinerivermn150th.
