PINE RIVER AREA
FISHING REPORT

February 1, 2012

Ice conditions on smaller lakes in the Pine River area are adequate in most areas and most of the larger lakes are accessable as well, keeping in mind that it is never safe near channeled areas or near the ice heaves that have been present this year. Anglers are reporting good action on panfish and northern pike in most areas and walleyes have been active in deeper water, 25-35 feet in depth. As the season lengthens it is always a good idea to go "lighter" in your tackle and lures. Some of the best panfishing is ahead of us in late February and March!

The Pine River Lions Club hold their annual "Take A Kid Fishing Day" every June and all kids attending experience a exciting, fun filled day on the water!

The Pine River Fire Department has also added a 1919 Waukesha horse-drawn fire engine exhibit to the grounds!

The Pine River Depot is number 30 on the list.
Its web page presents some reasons for restoring the depot, a glimpse at the project’s history thus far, the vision for the depot restoration and plans for funding the project.  A donor list will be added at a later date.  The webpage will be updated as progress is made toward the ultimate goal of depot restoration and preservation.
