RIVER AREA OPENING DAY FISHING FORECAST November
14 , 2009 Hardy anglers are still hitting the lake during these unusually
mild days of November. Walleyes are still hitting and most who have been on the
water have been taking walleys with regularity. Depths vary from very shallow
during the night and extremely deep on some larger lakes during the day, fifty
to sixty feet in some cases. Jig and minnow combinations are far out-producing
other offerings and presentations need to be slow and vertical if possible. Northern
pike are still active, but bass have been slow in most cases. Good reports are
still comin in on panfish which are tightly packed in schools at this time of
year. This will be the last open water report of the year. We will update this
site when lakes carry adequate ice to be considered safe. That usually takes place
in mid to late December. The
Pine River Lions Club hold their annual "Take A Kid Fishing Day" every
June and all kids attending experience a exciting, fun filled day on the water!
